I would suggest that Airlines could start check-in process at door step.

Passengers can travel to the airport without carry the baggage would be more comfortable. Passengers can save time in check in –counter queue and can directly go to immigration for a hassle free flight journey. They can spend more time in airport shops or lounges instead of check-in counter queue.

Check-in agent could issue the boarding pass after collecting the baggage in check-in van which can collect from home, office or hotel to airport safely. Service could start 24 hours before flight departure time as gulf air is presently collecting baggage in advance could expand the service to door step with check-in Van facility would be an added advantage to avoid over baggage concern in airport and save time as well.

Passengers travelling in red bus also could get check-in process inside the bus and collect the checked in baggage in the bus itself from airport through check-in van would be more convenient and encourage public transport as well. This project can be started on a Pilot basis on hotels and office for business class passengers, if this initiative is success could expand across Bahrain includes economy class passengers as well. Airlines could include mobile app for checked-in baggage notification to track the bag in next phase to avoid missing cases.

Hotels can implement check-in and checked baggage process at the hotel reception itself. So that passengers can travel to airport without any inconvenience.

I hope the concerned authorities will consider this suggestion to implement home check-in soon with the support of check-in agent and check-in van would be more helpful for passengers.

Hope to see more airlines will start the home check-in facility or tie up with Marhaba service in airport.
